Don Franks is a professor in dance in education and chair of the Department of Kinesiology at the University of Maryland. Franks is a Fellow of the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), the American Academy of Kinesiology dance in education and Physical Education (AAKPE), dance in education and the Research Consortium of the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation dance in education and Dance (AAHPERD). He is also a former president of AAKPE dance in education and the Research Consortium of AAHPERD. He was Senior Program Advisor for the Presidentā€™s Council on Physical Fitness dance in education and Sports in 1995, dance in education and he received that groupā€™s Distinguished Service Award the following year. Howley is a professor of exercise science at the University of Tennessee, where he frequently has been honored for his excellence in teaching.
